IND vs WI: “Ideally, We Would Like To Close Out The Series With A Win” – Dinesh Karthik On Team Goals For 4th T20I

Dinesh Karthik Finished Well For India

Dinesh Karthik, a seasoned wicketkeeper-batter, has remarked that winning the fourth T20I against the West Indies will be one of the Indian team’s primary goals. He acknowledged that the Men in Blue will need to adjust to Florida’s conditions right away, as they did not in the second T20I in St. Kitts.

At the fourth Twenty20 International of the five-match series, India and West Indies will square off on Saturday in Lauderhill, Florida (August 6). After winning the first and third T20Is, the Indians lead the series 2-1.

The second game at St. Kitts, where the visitors suffered their lone loss in the series, saw them swept out for 138 as Obed McCoy took 6 for 17.

In his remarks prior to the fourth T20I, Dinesh Karthik described India’s objectives as follows:

“Ideally, we would like to close out the series with a win.”

He added, “We all know how good West Indies is. But one of the key things being told to us is the fact that when we went to St Kitts, in the first game, we probably didn’t adapt to the conditions as quickly as we would have wanted.”

He continued:

“Here in Miami, we are going to try and make an effort to understand the conditions and then the situation and try to put up a good performance.”

Before moving to St. Kitts for the following two matches, Team India played the first game of the T20I series in Tarouba, Trinidad. Two games in Florida will mark the tour’s finish for them. Karthik answered a question regarding the difficulties of playing in various environments as follows:

“One of the key things that Rohit (Sharma) and Rahul (Dravid) bhai have spoken about in this series, at the start, has been adaptability. Understanding the situations, that is something we have done pretty well so far.”

India recovered brilliantly to win the third game by seven wickets and take a 2-1 series lead after being shocked by a five-wicket loss in the second T20I.

Team India has little previous experience competing in Florida. In four games played there so far, they’ve faced the West Indies.

Wind Will Be A Massive Factor In Miami: Dinesh Karthik

Regarding the circumstances and difficulties he anticipates, the 37-year-old said:

“In Miami, I think the wind will be a massive factor. Even though it is a sport which is played with a heavy ball, a lot of times, the wind dictates where you play the shots because it tends to carry to the fielders and not cross the boundary line.

On the other hand, it helps you hit bigger sixes than what you have actually hit. It works both ways.”

The Men in Blue have won two, lost one, and tied one of the four games between India and the West Indies that have taken place at Lauderhill.
