Aamir Khan has been making headlines for a while now. Given that the actor’s film Laal Singh Chaddha is slated to hit screens tomorrow on August 11, Aamir has been leaving no stone unturned to promote the venture. Said to be an official remake of the Tom Hanks starrer Forrest Gump, Laal Singh Chaddha features Kareena Kapoor Khan alongside Aamir. Recently, attending the press conference and celebration of PVR Cinemas’ 25-year anniversary Aamir Khan was in conversation with the host and media. What caught our attention in this interaction was the segment of Aamir opening up about what movies meant to him.
Responding to the host’s query of what films mean to him, Aamir Khan added, “Movies for me has always meant stories. I have always liked stories since I was a kid. I always had this liking to listen to stories from my mother, my grandmother and at home, dad was a filmmaker so there were often times when writers and directors would come over to narrate stories, sometimes it would be a concept of 10-15 minutes, and then sometimes it was full screenplays with dialogues. So ever since I was around 6 till around 16, whenever someone came over to narrate a story I would sit and listen. At that time I never though that I would enter films, it was just that I liked listening to stories, and reading books. Essentially, for me movies is stories, stories that move us and inspire us, stories that nourish us emotionally.”
After hearing what Aamir has to say about movies, it comes as no surprise that the actor referred to as ‘The Perfectionist’ pays such immense attention to detail in each of his films. As for Laal Singh Chaddha, directed by Advait Chandan the film features Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in lead roles. Produced by Viacom 18 and Aamir Khan the film is slated to hit screens tomorrow on August 11.
